In response to suggestions from previous competitors changes have been made to the 2011 Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship (FFCBC) format and prize board.
The field is capped at 120 teams. The entry fee remains $1,000.00 per team and the prize board pays out 85% of the total entries. That means that at a full field of 120 teams the total cash payout will be $102,000.00.
Day One and Day Two will payout for Big Fish and top three catches. Day One and Day Two will each pay out $4,500.00.
On Day Three the field will divided into three divisions. Teams will be ranked by their combined Day One and Day Two weights.
The top ten finishers after Day Two will make up the Day Three Championship Division. The top ten teams will carry their Day One and Day Two weights forward to declare a cumulative champion. The Championship Division will payout all ten anglers. The Championship Division will have a Day Three payout of $59,150.00. The Champions will earn $20,000.00 while the team finishing in tenth place is guaranteed $2,100.00.
The balance of the field is divided into two divisions for Day Three competition. In both of these divisions teams will start Day Three with Zero Weight.
On Day Three, in the second division, 55 teams ranked from 11 through 65 after Day Two, will compete for cash prizes totaling $20,000.00. The top ten finishers in the second division will be receive cash prizes. First place team in the second division earns $5,000.00.
In the second division, on Day Three, 55 teams ranked from 66 through 120 after Day Two, will compete for cash prizes totaling $8,600.00. The top six finishers in the third division will be receive cash prizes. First place team in the third division earns $2,500.00.
All teams will compete for the Day Three Big Fish prize of $750.00 and Day Three Big Catch prize of $1,500.00.
One thousand dollar prizes will also be awarded, on a cumulative basis, to the top Finishing Lund/Mercury team as well as the top MotorGuide team.
The top finishing rookie team wins an entry into the 2012 tournament. A 2012 rookie team is a team of which both members cannot have competed in 2008, 2009 or 2010.
Every team that enters by December 20th is entered in an early bird draw for a free entry to the 2012 event.
The early bird draw will take place on December 24, 2010.
Anglers can find an entry form on line at canadianbass.com. Anglers have option of printing off anĀ entry form and mailing it in, faxing it in or dropping it off at The Great Bear or at the Fort Frances Times office.
New this year is the option of entering on-line. Anglers can go to the website and enter by completing and submitting the online entry form.
Entries are being accepted on a first-paid, first-in basis. Team numbers will be assigned in the order that a deposit is received.
The entry fee is $1,000.00 per two-person team. A $250.00 deposit is required to be assigned a team number. The entry must be paid in full by April 30, 2010.
