Mercury Marine Renews Support for the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship

Mercury Marine today announced that they have renewed their support for the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship held annually in Fort Frances for 2010.  Since its beginnings in 1995, the Tournament and Mercury Marine have promoted this competitive tournament in North Western Ontario.

This marks our 16th consecutive year, noted Adrian Rushforth Sr. Director, Marketing & Strategic Planning for Mercury Marine, in supporting this great community festival.  We feel fortunate to be associated with a festival like the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship that has such a great community volunteer base.  It makes the tournament special.

Mercury Marine supports competitive angling tournaments across North America.  It is the preferred outboard by professional anglers and recreational boaters.

"Pinewood Sports and Marine and Mercury Marine has been part of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship since its beginnings in 1995"; noted Bob Fichuk of Pinewood Sports.  "We are excited to again partner with the tournament in 2010 at its new venue at the Fort Frances Sportsplex."   "Mercury Outboards have shown their dependability and performance with tournament anglers and Pinewood Sports and Marine will be on hand throughout the tournament to keep the fishermen on the water.

The 2010 Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship will take place from July 18 through July 24 at both the Sorting Gap Marina and the Memorial Sports Complex in Fort Frances.  Anglers will fish the almost 200,000 acres of Rainy Lake on the Canadian side of the International Border.

Tom Fry, Chairman of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship added “Mercury Marine” is an icon in tournament fishing in Northwestern Ontario and recreation fishing.  We are proud to again partner this year with Mercury Marine so that we can again showcase this terrific boat brand.

Mercury is the world's leading manufacturer of marine propulsion systems. Since the very beginning, Mercury has set the standards for the industry. When pending outboard emission standards challenged the industry, Mercury took the lead in redesigning its product to reduce emissions and to not only meet, but also exceed the new standards.
